CHARLES S. BULLOCK 50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

As he begins his 51st year in the classroom – no he is not retiring – Dr. Charles S. Bullock III remains a staple in the Department of Political Science and the School of Public and International Affairs. To celebrate the amazing service he has provided to thousands of students, to SPIA and the University of Georgia, to the state of Georgia, and beyond for the past 50 years, SPIA is hosting a celebration event on November 30, 2018. Additionally, the School has created a perpetual endowment fund, the Charles S. Bullock Experiential Learning Fund, that will provide study abroad scholarships, internship stipends, and other experiential learning opportunities for students, with a preference given to those with financial need.

GIVE TO THE BULLOCK EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING FUND

After 50 years at UGA, Dr. Bullock remains passionate about the importance of “hands-on” learning. He has helped hundreds of students obtain internships at the state capitol and elsewhere, often resulting int he connections and experience that launched their career.

In addition, Dr. Bullock is a keen advocate for the value of study abroad. Having taught in the Verona, Italy study abroad program since 2000 and two years at Oxford, Dr. Bullock has seen first-hand how this type of experience can be life-changing for those lucky enough to have the resources to attend.

To honor Dr. Bullock’s dedication to experiential learning and to ensure these opportunities are available to all students, regardless of financial means, the Bullock Experiential Learning Fund in the School of Public and International Affairs will support internships, study abroad scholarships, and other experiential learning opportunities for students, with a preference given to those with financial need.
