Hayley is a second-year student in the Master of International Policy program at the University of Georgia. Her primary areas of study include energy security, international law, and international security and nonproliferation.

Hayley is from Woodstock, Georgia, and received her BA in International Affairs from the University of Georgia before entering UGA’s Master of International Policy program. In addition, she is pursuing a Graduate Certificate in International Law through UGA’s School of Law. She works as a Research Assistant in the Center of International Trade and Security, and she completed an internship as an ASPIRE Student Intern for Savannah River National Laboratory in July 2023. Her primary areas of research include international security and nonproliferation, energy security, and international law.

Honors, Awards, and Achievements

In July 2023, Hayley participated in Brookhaven National Laboratory’s Nuclear Nonproliferation, Safeguards, and Security in the 21st Century Course. Throughout the course, she was able to work alongside fellow rising technical and policy professionals to conduct BNL Additional Protocol Exercises (APEX), WMD acquisition pathway analysis, and study rising concerns for IAEA safeguards.

Research Interests

Hayley’s research interests include international law, energy security, and international security and nonproliferation. She hopes to combine these areas of interest with her previous research on consent-based siting future nuclear waste facilities for her upcoming Capstone project.
