Master of Public Administration (MPA)
Beatrice Torralba Shakal is a public policy professional with over a decade of experience spanning the political, legislative, and nonprofit sectors at the state, federal, local, and international levels. Her career includes service with the U.S. Congress, the Heritage Foundation, the Georgia House of Representatives, and the Georgia Department of Transportation, as well as leadership roles in high-profile political campaigns and advocacy initiatives at the Georgia State Capitol.
Beatrice earned her Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics, with a minor in Public Policy, from the University of Maryland. She also completed Certificates in Public Leadership as both a College Park Scholar and a Rawlings Undergraduate Leadership Fellow. Her academic and professional pursuits have taken her abroad to Israel, Jordan, and the United Kingdom, where she collaborated with international nonprofits and worked alongside members of the British Parliament—broadening her understanding of comparative governance and global policy dynamics.
Beatrice went on to receive her Juris Master (J.M.) in International Law from Liberty University School of Law and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration (MPA) at the University of Georgia.
A first-generation immigrant, Beatrice is deeply committed to faith-based leadership, mentorship, and civic engagement. She is the founder of the Young Catholic Professionals Atlanta Chapter and Horizon Girls Club, a mentoring organization for middle and high school girls, and serves on the Board of the University of Maryland Alumni Association, Atlanta Chapter.
Beatrice resides in Kennesaw, Georgia, with her husband and their sons.
