Nonresident Fellow

Anne-Charlotte Merrell Wetterwik is an independent arms export expert, and former Senior Research Associate at the Center for International Trade and Security where she specialized in questions related to international strategic trade management, nonproliferation and the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty. She is also a former Swedish diplomat with extensive experience in international negotiations on trade control matters in the European Union and the multilateral export control regimes. Her research interests focus on international defense, security and trade policies, and conventional arms transfers.

She also currently serves as the Executive Assistant to the Ambassador of Sweden, in which she manages the Ambassador’s daily schedule, arranges for meetings and handles contacts with the various offices of the US Government, other diplomatic mission, civil society organizations in Washington DC as well as contacts with the different departments within the Swedish government.
