Dayle McCallar is a third-year political science and international affairs major, minoring in statistics. Dayle is from Hinesville, Georgia and realized her passion for politics while in high school. During this time, she connected this interest with a love of the people in her community and the call to serve. Her work in the community continues in Athens as Vice President of Community Relations for Alpha Phi, where she oversees her sorority’s community service and philanthropy efforts. Her work with the sorority has earned her honors as a Freshman Greek Leader, a member of the Sophomore Leaders Circle and the Order of Omega. Dayle is on the operations staff for UGA Votes, a non-partisan organization that encourages college students to exercise their right to vote. Dayle completed a study abroad experience in Scotland where she fell in love with the country and its people. She plans to complete another experience abroad before graduation. Dayle is employed as a student assistant for the SPIA Survey Research Center, where she conducts surveys that are commissioned by news organizations like the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Additionally, she would like to intern in Washington, D.C., specifically with a think tank that would allow her to develop skills in analyzing data. While Dayle has not ruled out a future that includes law school, she is currently more interested in pursuing graduate studies and a career related to data and global politics.
