The Ireland Study Abroad program is a 4-week program based in Ireland and Northern Ireland. The program is sponsored by the School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) however, it is open to all majors. This program will focus primarily on the study of human rights and post-conflict societies by using the Irish Troubles as the lens through which these topics are explored. All students are required to take 6 hours of coursework—one course on political repression, protest, and violence, and one course on the European Union’s human rights problems and policies.

The trip includes long stays in Galway, Dublin, and Belfast, and also includes excursions to other cities and locations in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, such as Derry, the Cliffs of Moher, Game of Thrones sites, and others.
