November 2024 MPA Student of the Month: Timothy Pierce

Congratulations to Timothy Pierce for being selected as November MPA Student of the Month!

Timothy Pierce is a second-year MPA student and a member of Pi Alpha Alpha, the Global Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration. He holds a B.A. in Communication Studies with a specialization in interpersonal and organizational communication from Rowan University. His academic interests include international development, cybersecurity, and health misinformation. Throughout his time in the MPA program, Timothy has gained hands-on experience through various internships and projects. This summer, he interned at the Cannabis Regulatory Commission in New Jersey, where he contributed to drafting public communications, managing social media content, and researching the impacts of cannabis policy. Timothy recently traveled to Seoul, Korea, with the MPA program, where he was able to observe the management of Seoul and meet with local government officials. Outside of his studies, Timothy serves as a writing consultant at the University of Georgia’s Jill and Marvin Willis Center for Writing, mentoring students and facilitating workshops on writing and research techniques. Timothy has maintained a 3.92 GPA and plans to pursue a career in the federal government where he can combine his interests in public administration, communication, and cybersecurity.
