Congratulations to Olivia Sternagle for being selected as July MPA Student of the Month!
Olivia Sternagle is a Master of Public Administration student in her final year. She graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Arts in History, with a minor in Law, Jurisprudence, and the State from UGA, while participating as a Double Dawg with the MPA program. Her involvement in University Housing as a Resident Assistant and in the Honors College as Head of the Programming Committee in Honors Student Council helped Olivia discover her passion for higher education administration.
Olivia serves as the Graduate Research Assistant for Inclusive Excellence at the UGA College of Engineering. In this role, she coordinates events and programming for Engineering and Computer Science students to build community and a support network. Highlights from her time in this role include working with UGA’s inaugural cohort of National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME) Block Grant Scholars, the second and incoming third cohort of the Engineering Academic Boot Camp (EABC), hosting a monthly Lunch and Learn series and monthly community dinners in collaboration with Engineering Student Organizations, and designing and distributing a monthly newsletter for the College of Engineering. She has also worked on research reports for the EABC program and its impact on students.
She has interned with the Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission since July 2024, where she supports the digitization project of closed-school transcript records and the initial applicant process. In the MPA program, Olivia is involved in the International City/County Manager Association (ICMA), where she serves as the incoming president of the UGA chapter. She is an inductee of Pi Alpha Alpha and Phi Kappa Phi. Olivia looks forward to graduating in December 2025.
