First-year MPA students wrapped up socialization week with Saturday morning service learning projects across the community. Students served at five different locations with tasks ranging from painting and clean up for Ebenezer Baptist Church to farming for a local CSA that contributes to local soup kitchens and food banks. Additionally, students served at Timothy Road Elementary blazing a new trail for elementary students, staging heavy components of a hoop house and dismantling raised garden beds at Northeast Georgia Food Bank, and removing privet at Dudley Park. Students were rewarded at the end of their morning of service with lunch and a discussion on the application to what they will learn and encounter in the MPA program.
