Congratulations to Maddie Hamill Guzman for being selected as May MPA Student of the Month!
Maddie is graduating from the MPA program this May, with a specialization in Local Government Management. She is the first person in her family to earn her master’s degree. In her free time, she enjoys running, swimming, and reading.
She is originally from Austin, Texas, and graduated summa cum laude with her bachelor’s degree from Texas State University in 2018. She has worked in local governments such as the City and County of Broomfield and City and County of Denver. Currently she is finishing up her time as a graduate assistant at the Ramsey Student Center where she leads a staff of 70 lifeguards.
After graduation, she will be moving back to the Denver, Colorado area to work as an Administrative Analyst for the City and County of Broomfield Open Space and Trails department. She is passionate about local government and hopes to work her way up to a department head position and eventually become a City or County Manager.
