Public Administration and Policy would like to congratulate Maggie Rocker for being selected as May 2019 MPA Student of the Month.

Maggie is a second-year MPA student and a member of the national honor society for students in public affairs, Pi Alpha Alpha. She currently works as a graduate teaching assistant for the political science department, where she is in her fourth semester of teaching American Government. Maggie recently served as a summer Housing and Development Intern for the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. There, she assisted in scoring tax credit applications for affordable housing developments across the state. In addition, she conducted research related to maximizing the impact of green affordable housing in low-income housing tax credit developments.

Post-graduation, she is excited to continue working at the state level as a Fiscal Analyst for Arizona’s Joint Legislative Budget Committee.

Prior to her acceptance in the MPA program, Maggie attended the University of Alabama, where she double majored in journalism and political science. During her tenure at UA, she served as a volunteer copy editor for the student newspaper before being promoted to Associate Editor. In her spare time, Maggie enjoys playing trivia, writing poetry, being a cool dog aunt to her roommates’ three dogs, and curating wholesome memes.
