Nelson is a second-year MPA candidate interested in higher education and nonprofit administration, and education/international law. He will be joining the Experiential Learning Office as the Graduate Assistant for Program & Business Development for AY 2022-2023. He previously worked in the International Business Programs Office at Terry College of Business, where he helped pioneer the department’s inaugural Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) Program with the University of Liverpool, and the inaugural domestic field study program, Global Georgia.

Although born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Nelson considers Austin, Texas, his hometown, the most extended place he’s ever lived, where he graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, with a focus on modernist literature, and a minor in Government & International Political Economy. Nelson is an active community member, serving on the Georgia Association for International Educators (GAIE) leadership board. He also serves on the Steering Committee of the School of Public & International Affairs, Graduate Student Association (SPIA GSA).

Nelson enjoys playing the Cello, traveling, reading, and trying out new recipes in his spare time. He is native bilingual in English & Spanish and working towards fluency in French. He’s currently in Talloires, France, working with the Tufts University European Center.
