Congratulations to Madeline for being selected as Public Administration and Policy’s May Student of the Month!
Madeline Clifton Chappell graduates from the MPA program this summer. Typically found on the Gwinnett campus, Madeline pursued her MPA as a part-time student while also working full-time in Atlanta. Currently serving as the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Emory University, Madeline is able to apply her studies in the intersection of non-profit management, higher education, and government relations every day.
Madeline began her work in higher education as a student intern in the undergraduate admission office her sophomore year of college and never looked back. She has served in a variety of roles in higher education and is grateful for the mentors she has met along her journey. These professional bonds have not only helped advance her own career and goals, but have also taught her the skills and confidence to mentor budding professionals.
Madeline is passionate about higher education as an economic development tool and is fascinated by higher ed regulations at the federal and state levels.
Madeline is originally from Savannah and has lived in Atlanta since her time as an undergraduate. Madeline double majored in Political Science and Interdisciplinary Studies, graduating from Emory University in 2016. Madeline and her husband Henry live with their dog Elton in Decatur, GA. They are avid gardeners, both of plants and beer.
