Public Administration and Policy would like to congratulate Sierra Francois for being selected as MPA student of the Month for September!

Sierra is a second-year MPA student specializing in local government administration and public policy. She currently works as a Graduate Assistant in the Graduate School Business Office. She currently serves as President for Georgia Students for Public Administration (GPSA) and the Graduate Student Association (GSA) and is a newly inducted member of Sigma Alpha Pi.

For the past year, Sierra served as a research intern at Partnership Gwinnett, a public-private initiative of the Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce, dedicated to bringing new jobs and capital investment to Gwinnett County, Georgia. There she analyzed data to provide workforce demographic predictions for new and expanding businesses within the county as well as tracked trends in workforce needs in an effort to capitalize on existing industry and provide support to local businesses.

Prior to joining the MPA program and the UGA family, Sierra attended the University of Mississippi where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in International Studies in 2016. During her time at Ole Miss, Sierra was a member of the Student Alumni Council, Co-Chair of Ole Miss’ Relay for Life Committee, a Volleyball Manager, and an UM Career Center Peer Advisor.

Sierra is a native of Jackson, MS who loves to travel, read, and spend time with her friends and family in her spare time.
