Avi has spent more than a decade working at the crossroads of social innovation, technology, policy, and communications as part of the leadership team at BRAC, one of the largest NGOs in the world. Over the years, he led innovation, strategy, and growth across a diverse portfolio of programs spanning financial inclusion, climate change, education, health, and youth development. He also managed BRAC’s Social Innovation Lab, which functioned as a knowledge and experimentation hub for the organization. A recurring focus of his work was scaling proven social innovations and identifying high-growth market segments for BRAC’s emerging social enterprises.
More recently, Avi has been translating his global development experience into policy and public-sector innovation work in the United States. Last summer, he served as a Summer Associate with the World Bank’s Department of Innovation, where he supported work on innovation ecosystems, external partnerships, and knowledge-sharing initiatives across the institution. In early 2026, he will join The Carter Center as an intern with the Strategy, Innovation & Learning team, contributing to organizational learning, strategic initiatives, and innovation efforts across the Center’s peace and health programs.
Avi’s work has been recognized by the Acumen Fund, where he was selected as a Fellow, and by the UN Global Compact as a mentor under the Young SDG Innovators Program. He is also an alumnus of UNLEASH – a global innovation lab focused on designing breakthrough solutions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
