The Center for International Trade and Security was in Panama City, Panama on May 31st – June 1st to lead a legislative implementation workshop. The workshop, sponsored by the Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS) program at the Department of State, helped facilitate implementation of Panama’s recently signed presidential decree. The decree will allow Panama to better regulate strategic trade while also meeting the requirements of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1540.
