Christensen Named 2014-2015 Service-Learning Fellow

Congratulations to Dr. Robert Christensen on being named a 2014-2015 Service-Learning Fellow, chosen by the Office of Service-Learning, a unit of the UGA Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach and the Office of the Vice President for Instruction. As one of the nine faculty members across campus, Christensen will spend the academic year exploring new ways to integrate experiential learning into his teaching and research. The fellows will meet regularly throughout the academic year and will receive an award of up to $2,500 to develop a service-learning project. Dr. Christensen plans to examine undergraduate students’ public service motivation and its relationship to participation in service-learning activities, with particular attention to the influences of student gender and ethnicity and longer-term impacts on career choices that may be public service related.
