Congratulations to Tyler Benson for being selected as August MPA Student of the Month!
Tyler is going into her second year of our MPA program with a B.S. in Psychology and Political Science from Oglethorpe University. Through her studies at UGA she devotes her time to public interest law research, studying, and working as a TA for the American Government course. Recently, she has completed 2024 summer fellowship with the Montgomery County, Maryland, Council’s central staff office. During this time, Tyler has conducted research that discussed the importance of extended financial support for vulnerable families, post-pandemic. This experience has shaped her policy interests in housing, education, and mental health. After graduating in the spring of 2025, she plans to pursue her passion for public interest law by attending law school.
