Congratulations to Anthony Potts for being selected as Public Administration and Policy’s MPA Student of the month!

Anthony is a Double Dawg in his final semester of the MPA and A.B. Economics programs. Under the mentorship of Dr. Edward Kellough, he currently studies the impact of collective bargaining agreements on wages. In the fall, he worked as a researcher with the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce. Anthony also built a research team to scrape and compile local jail data, which has been used by organizations such as the American Civil Liberties Union, Human Rights Watch, and Southern Center for Human Rights. His research has been published by the Roosevelt Institute, Georgia Law Review, and American Conference on Information Systems. As Director of the Roosevelt Institute at UGA, he implemented the first UGA Policy Journal to showcase student-created policies concentrating on local, state, national, and international issues. In 2019, Anthony travelled to Johannesburg, South Africa, as a researcher and advocate with Lawyers for Human Rights assisting unaccompanied and separated migrant children. Last November, Anthony was selected as a 2021 National Rhodes Scholarship Finalist.

Congratulations Anthony! Keep up the good work, graduation is just around the corner!
