CITS hosts nuclear security culture workshop in Indonesia

CITS recently hosted a workshop in Serpong, Indonesia on January 29-31 to develop capacity for nuclear security culture. This workshop was conducted for the benefit of the Indonesian nuclear security program and was attended by personnel from the National Nuclear Energy Agency of Indonesia (BATAN) and the Center for Security Culture and Assessment (CSCA), the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency of Indonesia (BAPATEN), and academic institutions. The workshop was arranged and led by representatives of the Center for International Trade and Security (CITS) of the University of Georgia (UGA), and involved presentations and interactive sessions led by a team of subject matter experts. The focus of the workshop was to assist Indonesia in furthering efforts to coordinate and integrate nuclear security culture elements with appropriate elements of nuclear safety culture.
