Michela Rose Monteiro, originally from Cumming, Georgia, currently resides in Athens, Georgia. She is a dedicated graduate student pursuing her Master’s degree in Public Administration at the University of Georgia. Alongside her studies, Michela serves as a graduate teaching assistant for POLS 1101 (American Government), where she shares her passion for political science with undergraduate students. Born and raised in Bonita Springs, Florida, Michela moved to Georgia eight years ago. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of North Georgia, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a pre-law concentration, graduating magna cum laude. During her undergraduate years, Michela interned at a family law firm, where she gained invaluable insights into the legal field. This experience honed her analytical skills, deepened her understanding of public policy, and reinforced her commitment to public service. Her internship provided a practical foundation that complements her academic pursuits in public administration, equipping her with a well-rounded perspective on the challenges and opportunities within the public sector. Outside of her academic and professional endeavors, Michela is a competitive powerlifter and an active member of the Classic City Powerlifting club at UGA. Michela is particularly inspired by her program’s dedication to public service. She is eager to engage in service opportunities, aiming to complete 100 hours of community service within a calendar year.
