Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Political Science & International Affairs

I am a second-year PhD student in political science with research interests in American politics, police and intelligence oversight, and municipal politics. My academic research has focused on legislative oversight of the New York Police Department’s post 9/11 intelligence and counterterrorism programs and use of surveillance technology.

I am a PhD student in Political Science and International Affairs at the University of Georgia with a focus in American politics. I have research interests in oversight of police and intelligence, legislative studies, and in security studies more broadly. My academic research has focused on legislative oversight of the New York Police Department’s post 9/11 intelligence and counterterrorism programs and use of surveillance technology. My co-authored work has been published in Intelligence and National Security and presented at the annual conference of the International Studies Association (ISA) in 2019 and 2021. Previously, I completed a Master’s in International Studies from the University of Denver in 2021, a Graduate Certificate in National Security Intelligence from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in 2019, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2017. While at the University of Denver, I worked as a research assistant and project lead for the Country and Organization Leader Travel team at the Pardee Center for International Futures focused on compiling and analyzing data on the foreign travel of Heads of State and Government.
