Master of Public Administration (MPA)

Dorian is originally from Schwenksville, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in December 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the School of Business. A financial education research paper early in Dorian’s undergraduate career ignited her desire to learn more about how policy impacts communities. After several internships in different levels of government, Dorian was certain that a career in public service was the right fit for her. She is seeking a Master of Public Administration to better understand the tools that policymakers and various agencies use to affect change in communities. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.

Education

BS | Virginia Commonwealth University | 2022 | Economics

During Dorian’s time at Virginia Commonwealth University, she also pursued a minor in Political Science and a certificate in Leadership Studies. Through this coursework, she was able to learn about how government functions through the analytical lens of economics. She worked as a Money Coach in a peer financial coaching office for 2.5 years, taking on a leadership role as the Lead Money Coach in her final 1.5 years. She also worked as a teaching assistant for the Honors College and the Economics Department, where she assisted students with research projects and led study sessions.

Currently serves as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Carl Vinson Institute of Government, Program Coordinator at the Medical Society of Virginia Foundation, Data Science and Analytics Intern at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Economics Intern at the Virginia Employment Commission, Legislative Intern at the Virginia General Assembly.
