Master of Public Administration (MPA)

Alex King was born in Milton, Georgia. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia in the Spring of 2024, earning his Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and International Affairs. He currently serves as a Teaching Assistant for the University of Georgia. During his undergraduate tenure, he served as a fellow with Historic Athens, a local non-profit dedicated to historic preservation and community education, which demonstrated to him the value and necessity of service in a public-facing organization. In addition, he participated in undergraduate human rights research, assisting in projects investigating the global status of the death penalty and digital repression of civilians, while also producing original research examining the impact of natural disasters on the legal protection of human rights. His undergraduate studies focused on fields such as comparative politics, human rights, political conflict, and political systems, providing him a solid foundation in these fields, as well as experience with analytical research and professional writing. He is pursuing his MPA degree to gain a greater understanding of the policy process, and hopes to work in either the Federal government or a non-profit.
