Part-Time Assistant Professor

Walt Sansot is an Assistant Professor at UGA and a Nonresident Fellow at the Center for International Trade and Security (CITS).  Mr. Sansot has 40 years of diverse experience in the nuclear field, including operating and managing U.S. Department of Energy (USDOE) nuclear material production facilities. As a technical advisor for the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, he currently supports the organizations international nonproliferation efforts and has been a recipient of numerous DOE and company awards based upon contributions to National Security. Prior to his service at PNNL, Mr. Sansot was a Program Manager for Westinghouse Savannah River Company, operator of the Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina, where he managed the operation of several nuclear material production facilities. Mr. Sansot has worked in the commercial nuclear industry as well as almost ten years in the United States Navy Submarine Service.

Mr. Sansot holds a Master of Science in International Policy Management from Kennesaw State and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a minor in Nuclear Technology from Regents Colleges. He has published a number of analysis for Gulf and Middle Eastern countries at classified level.
