Joowon Yi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of International Affairs at the University of Georgia’s School of Public and International Affairs. He received a Ph.D. in the Department of Political Science at Texas A&M University.

His research interests lie in International Relations and Comparative Politics, particularly in the areas of state formation, nationalism, and civil wars. His work has been published or is forthcoming at International Studies Quarterly, European Journal of International Relations, and International Politics.
