Envision a society where all dogs and cats have a loving home and the bond between pets and people is celebrated. Wouldn’t that be heartwarming? That is Athens Area Humane Society’s vision. Their staff have made it their mission to rescue and protect companion animals by providing for their wellbeing, uniting them with loving homes, and advocating for a compassionate society.

There are several great ways to help out this wonderful nonprofit. You can volunteer, foster, donate money, donate food for community owners and pets in need, or you can even adopt.

To make it easy for you to help, PADP is hosting an item drive for the Athens Area Humane Society through December. They can use your help with items for the animals and items that help them run a safe and successful rescue. Items they need include:

dog food
cat food
bleach
dish soap
lint rollers
disinfecting wipes
litter
pet toys
paper towels
pet treats
food bowls
newspaper

You can drop off in the PADP office (Baldwin Hall 204) now until the holiday break.
