  •  Susette M. Talarico Award for Excellence in Teaching, University of Georgia, 2024.
  • Centenary College Pacesetter Award, 2019, 2020, and 2021.
    • Students submit nominations to the Student Government Association, who then
      select six professors as finalists for what is essentially Professor of the Year. There
      is then a vote of the entire student body. The recipient (the “Pacesetter”) represents
      a professor who shows passion, service, and leadership for students.
  • State National Bank Teaching Excellence Award, Wayne State College, 2013.
    • A campus-wide award for teaching excellence. Nominated by faculty and awarded
      by the VPAA.
  • WSC Professor of the Year, 2008.
    • A campus-wide award for teaching excellence. Nominated by students and selected
      by the Student Senate.
  • Tanner Award, 1991.
    • A campus-wide award given by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
      in recognition of “excellence in teaching of undergraduate students.”
  • John Patrick Hagan Award, 1990.
    • An annual award given by the UNC Department of Political Science for “outstanding teaching by a graduate student.”
