Overview

Political Science majors may choose an Area of Emphasis in Courts, Justice, and Law through the selection of two major courses with a focus on courts and justice and an additional two courses on law and legal theory. Students in this area of emphasis will develop a deeper understanding of the American judicial system, legal theory, and Constitutional law.

Political Science Major with an Area of Emphasis in Courts, Justice, and Law Requirements:

  • 6 hours from POLS 4090 or POLS 4090H, POLS 4525, POLS 4760, POLS 4770, POLS 4780 or POLS 4780H, POLS 4781, POLS 4900 or POLS 4900S (satisfies Courts and Justice Requirement)
  • 6 hours from POLS 4080, POLS 4700 or POLS 4700E or POLS 4700H, POLS 4705, POLS 4710 or POLS 4710E or POLS 4710H, POLS 4720 or POLS 4720E, POLS 4730, POLS 4750 (satisfies Law and Legal Theory Requirement)
