Camila Lívio holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics-Romance Languages from UGA and her work focuses on using computational methods to gather and interpret complex data. Specifically, she applies natural language processing techniques, such as language modeling and sentiment analysis, as well as computational text analysis, to understand a variety of research questions in the social sciences. She has published on digital methods, research data management, and, more recently, has been working on mis/disinformation in Latin America.
Before coming to UGA, she served as a Fulbright fellow at the University of Pennsylvania. Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, she has extensive experience working in the field of foreign languages and cultures, both in the U.S. and abroad.
