Elizabeth Tandy Shermer (she/her/hers) is a historian of the 20th and 21st century US broadly interested in political economy, whether in the history of capitalism, labor history, business history, and/or the history off public policy. She has been fortunate enough to hold fellowships and teaching positions across North America and Western Europe, all of which has supported her research and publications, whether in newspapers, magazines, scholarly journals, or books, the most recent being Indentured Students.

Dr. Shermer is also the director of the Applied History Certificate program, which is a joint program between SPIA and the Department of History in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences.
