Alex Willson, UGA alum and CEO of Sunnyland Farms, was recently honored with the goBeyondProfit Champion Award.

goBeyondProfit, founded in 2017, is a state-wide coalition that provides businesses with the resources necessary to be a force for good in their communities. The mission of this organization is to assist and encourage generosity among private-sector entities, as well as to empower corporate volunteerism.

Sunnyland Farms, a 1,760-acre pecan farm and manufacturing company, was recognized by goBeyondProfit for its support of local non-profits and its investment in employee wellbeing. Along with celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, the farm will also celebrate 75 years of continued generational generosity in Albany, Georgia.

Sunnyland Farms CEO, Alex Willson (AB ’03) received his Bachelors’ degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia. His grandmother, Jane Seddon Willson, was one of the University of Georgia’s most generous benefactors. Altruistic and invested in UGA’s mission, the Willson’s directly funded the Willson Center for Humanities and Arts.
