Master of Public Administration (MPA)

Toni Ramirez is a graduate student pursuing a Master of Public Administration. As an immigrant, Toni grew up in a bicultural and bilingual environment which has greatly influenced her educational and professional experiences. After obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Political Science in 2020, Toni gained practical work experience as a Program Leader for Gwinnett County Department of Community Services which strengthened her interest in a managerial and leadership positions in civic and social organizations. Passionate about research, Toni’s goal is to never stop learning about important issues that impact people locally and globally. As a lifelong learner, Toni is eager to engage with her community and become a leader in implementing initiatives to improve the well-being of others and advance democracy.

Educational Experiences

I chose to study Psychology and Political Science to gain a better understanding on the factors that pull us together and bring us apart. During my undergraduate career, I was involved in many interdisciplinary projects ranging from social issues, technology, and cognition. Along with my upper-level electives like Diversity in Organization & Law and Society, I gained an interest in the intersection of human development and public policy.

Career Goals

Upon completion of the MPA Program, I plan on holding a management position either in higher education administration, local government, or a non-profit as either a Program Director, Education Administrator, or a Policy Analyst.
