Master of Public Administration (MPA)
Taylor is a Master of Public Administration candidate and serves as an administrative assistant for the Dean of the Terry College of Business. He grew up in nearby Toccoa and earned a BA in Speech Communication from UGA. He has taught Head Start in Oconee County, English in Brazil, and worked in more than a dozen cities across the US as a consultant in the multi-family housing industry. Taylor also spent seven years living and working on an 11,000 acre island accessible only by boat. On this privately-owned nature preserve, he was one of the island’s dozen or so residents and a manager at the island’s eco-lodge. These experiences instilled in him a great respect for immigrants and cultural exchange, biologists and wildlife, as well as conservationists and the places they protect.
He and his bird-biologist bride traded the Georgia coast for Athens as she completed her Master of Science degree at UGA’s Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. They share their home with a dog named Lundi and a snake named Marshmallow. Taylor enjoys his short bicycle commute to campus and is working toward a Certificate in Native Plants from the State Botanical Garden of Georgia.
