Master of Public Administration (MPA)
I graduated from the University of Georgia May 2018 with a Bachelors of Journalism in Advertising and I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration. I intend to focus on nonprofit management.
I became particularly interested in nonprofits while working as a fundraiser at the University of Georgia call center during my junior year where I raised approximately $15,000 over one academic year as well as conducted numerous student and alumni surveys.
During the summer of 2017, I interned with Second Chance Mississippi, (known as “2ndChanceMS”), a nonprofit located in Oxford, MS dedicated to raising awareness and funds which provide support for high school dropouts. The program focused on helping participants to earn their GED’s as well as supported them in many ways including but not limited to financial assistance as they pursued additional education. 2ndChanceMS has a small staff, so I was able to gain first-hand experience with all aspects of the organization while working directly with the founder and other top executives.
I am currently employed at the UGA College of Pharmacy where I have been working since October 2017. I began working as an intern under the Director of Development for the College of Pharmacy. I helped them design their new website and assisted in the development of new strategies to meet their fundraising goals. In June of 2018, I transferred to the Dean’s Office in the College of Pharmacy and will continue working there while earning my MPA.
I volunteer with WREN (Wildlife Resources Education Network) as an animal transporter. I capture injured animals and drive them to veterinary facilities and professional animal rehabilitation experts across the state.
I spend as much of my spare time as possible outdoors. I enjoy hiking and traveling to enjoy the beauty of nature. I am also currently learning the art of photography.
