More About

Simon is a Ph.D candidate at the University of Georgia where he focuses on both political institutions and political behavior, in particular the effects of political sophistication on both of them. He is a new parent so he has recently learned to do almost everything with one hand. Originally from South Africa, Simon also lived in Europe and Asia before moving to the US with his now husband in 2011.  When not doing political science he can be found teaching his son to yell at the television during football.

Research Interests

Simon majors in American politics with a focus on both institutions and behavior and the relationship between them. He is highly interested in both the measurement and the application of political sophistication, and how it applies to both Congress and the mass public.
