Sierra Francois

Master of Public Administration (MPA)

During my time at the University of Mississippi, I was a member of the Student Alumni Council, Co-Chair of Ole Miss’ Relay for Life Committee, a Volleyball Manager, and an UM Career Center Peer Advisor.

I interned for the Mississippi Joint Legislative Committee on Performance Evaluation and Expenditure Review; where I worked on a series of focus areas throughout my internship spending more time with Education Policy and Criminal Justice focus areas. I performed research for criminal justice initiatives focusing on rehabilitative efforts that would make re-entry into society a less strenuous process for previously incarcerated persons. In addition, I aided the committee’s audit of all state level agencies and their effectiveness in comparison to other states.

Research Interests

I plan to further my studies with a concentration in public policy and local government administration to address the inequity of access, opportunity, and wealth in rural and minority communities. I would love to be able to address these issues in my home state before expanding to national policy analysis.
