Master of Public Administration (MPA)

Shayla earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) in May 2019. She is the first in her family to earn a four-year degree. She completed this degree in three years while working part-time and being apart of various organizations. She graduated Summa cum laude with a 4.0. During her undergraduate career she served as a mentor for young girls, an undergraduate research assistant, and a student-teacher for a freshmen seminar class. She was the only graduating senior to be awarded the Outstanding Senior Award in the Political Science department by the faculty members. She will be entering the Master’s of Public Administration program at UGA with a highly competitive graduate assistantship and the Williams Fund scholarship.

My overall goal is to create a network of organizations that can serve underprivileged youth by making educational advancement more easily accessible. My career goal is to serve as a political analyst for the federal government.
