Master of Public Administration (MPA)

Rebecca Bryant is an International Affairs Major and Spanish Minor student at the University of Georgia. Her perusal of the Double Dawg Pathway for the past two years has accumulated into her acceptance into the Masters of Public Administration at the University of Georgia which she will graduate from in December 2022. Rebecca’s interests are centered around local and international community involvement and sustainability. Throughout her college years she has volunteered with local Athens organizations such as: Nuci’s Space, Athens Council on Aging, and the Oasis after school program. She has also worked throughout college for Farmcart, which is a restaurant that specializes in farm to table service by buying food from local Athens farmers. Rebecca has continued to work and volunteer for sustainable causes. Through her capstone course for her Sustainability certificate, she was able to assist the city of Winterville to open and launch an affordable and sustainable farmers market. She also plans to receive a Peace Corps prep certificate. Furthermore, she is interested in academic research. Through a UGA research financial administration assistantship, she has gained knowledge on how to collect and organize data on state tax systems. Her most current work with UGA is a research assistantship with Dr. Struthers. In this position she is responsible for completing both administrative tasks for the Georgia Initiative for Climate and Society (GICS) and research related to coastal adaptation policy. Currently, she has an internship with the audit team of the Georgia Department of Administrative Services. Rebecca hopes to use her current and future knowledge and experience to promote sustainable development in the public sector.
