Applied Politics
Rachel Byers is a 2nd-year student from Monroe, Georgia. On campus, she is involved in the Student Government Association and the Wesley Foundation. Rachel’s interest in politics began in high school when she campaigned for and shadowed her state representative, Tom Kirby. Since then, she has worked on various campaigns for State House and Congress. One meaningful experience she had was interning in Congressman Jody Hice’s office. After completing her undergraduate studies in Communication Studies and Political Science, Rachel hopes to either attend law school at UGA or to work in the Governor’s Office or at Capitol Hill within a communications department.
