Patrick Guthrie is currently a sophomore at UGA. He found his calling in public service in high school, particularly around the time of the 2016 presidential election, and since then has been interested in the way politicians serve their constituents and the impact that public service has on a community as a whole. Coming into UGA, Patrick was undeclared in his major until he decided he wanted to commit himself to the study of political science, aiming to eventually attend law school after graduation. One of his long-term goals is to eventually serve his community through public office, and along with that goal comes a strong interest in electoral politics and political data analysis in order to understand how public servants are elected into office and able to serve the best interest of their respective communities. Patrick is a member of the Kappa Alpha Order at UGA and serves on the board on alumni relations within his fraternity, as well as serving in the Freshman Greek Leaders, an organization dedicated to creating effective young leaders in UGA’s Greek system.
