Miya Walker

Master of Public Administration (MPA)

During her eight years of experience in undergraduate admissions, Miya has worked with high school students across the country to ensure a successful transition to and from college. A proud women’s college graduate, Miya began her career at her alma mater, Converse College. While there, she founded Leadership Converse, a program designed for young women who are passionate about community service and social justice. Her career led her to Atlanta, GA to work for Miami University and currently, Emory University where she serves as Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Admission. Miya is an active member of the Southern Association of College Admission Counseling (SACAC) and has presented at several SACAC conferences and events. She was chosen as a 2015 National Association for College Admission Counseling Emerging Leader and has led leadership and community workshops in various cities all over the United States. Hailing from a small town, Miya has a sincere interest and passion for local and state government matters specifically how government policies directly affect local constituents. After graduating from the University of Georgia, she hopes to obtain a career opportunity that will allow her to blend her educational and occupational knowledge in either the public or private sector.
