Master of Public Administration (MPA)

Minkyu entered the public office in 2010 and worked at the MOTIE (Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy) in South Korea. So far, he has been in responsible for attracting foreign investment, responding to environmental regulations, analyzing climate change, and analyzing trade statistics. He has been selected as a government scholarship student last year. Since then, Minkyu has been studying at the Graduate School of Public Administration, SNU (Seoul National University) for the past year. He has come to study at the SPIA, UGA according to the dual degree program agreement between UGA and SNU. Minkyu would like to study hard about the theories and overseas cases that he felt lacking while working as a government bureaucrat, and to have a lot of interaction with international classmates from various countries.

Career Goals:

Based on what I will be learned at UGA, I will come back to the Korean government and strive to develop excellent policies. In addition, I want to become a learning officer who is not only confined to domestic issues in Korea but also has a constant interest in international trends and future issues.

Research Interests

I am interested in policies to maintain and improve competitiveness of manufacturing industry in Korea, which is suffering from recent difficulties. At the same time, I am deeply concerned about advanced environmental policies in accordance with deepening of international environmental regulations. I want to learn a lot about governance that can harmonize industrial policy and environmental policy as well.
