Master of Public Administration (MPA)

Meredith O’Brien graduated from the University of Georgia in the Spring of 2019 with a degree in International Affairs, with minors in Public Policy and Management and Global Health. She was a One UGA Scholarship recipient. Meredith stayed in Athens and chose to continue her education with a Master of Public Administration and Policy, focusing her interests in Healthcare and Hospital Administration. Meredith spent time during her undergraduate degree interning in both the nonprofit and public sector, eventually finding her passion for service within quality and access to proper healthcare. She also worked on a research project studying the impact of nutrition on refugees in the United States. Meredith volunteered in South Africa with an NGO focused educational and economic disparities. In the summer after graduation, Meredith worked as a Program Assistant at the Summer Academy at UGA, located within the Georgia Center for Continuing Education on campus. She is a member of the Sigma Iota Rho Honors Society for International Affairs.

During my time at the University of Georgia, I majored in International Affairs with minors in Public Policy and Management and Global Health. I was a One UGA Scholarship Recipient with a Presidential Waiver and a member of Sigma Iota Rho Honors Society for International Affairs. I spent time on a Global Health research project focused on refugee nutrition in the United States as well as take classes focused on political economy and international relations.

Career Goals:

After graduating from the MPA, I plan to work within the healthcare sector in an administrative capacity. Within the healthcare system, I hope to impact patients access to proper care.
