Master of Public Administration (MPA)

Matthew Davison was born and raised in Dalton, GA. He would come to Athens to earn his B.A. in political science and minor in communications studies at the University of Georgia, graduating in 2021. During his time in undergrad, he would participate in the UGA Rowing Club as a varsity rower, dedicating his early mornings and late evenings to the sport. He also interned with GroundBreakers, a non-profit dedicated to sharing the stories of social innovators, as their communications manager. The following year, he would intern with Congresswoman Lucy McBath in Washington, DC through the UGA Washington Semester Program. It was during his work with GroundBreakers and Congress that he established his dedication to public service and committed to a future where he would help create sustainable public policy. With this in mind, he would take the time after graduation to write a policy proposal for the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government as the policy intern for a county commissioner. Now, Matthew is continuing his education at the University of Georgia by pursuing a Master of Public Administration.
