Master of Public Administration (MPA)
Lily Johnson is a first-year Master Public Administration student, who is currently a fundraising intern at Bigger Vision of Athens. Lily graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgia College & State University in May of 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She also completed a minor in Anthropology and the Certified Nonprofit Professional program through the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance. She served as the President of the student chapter of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance at GC&SU in order to recruit future nonprofit professionals and ensure they complete the educational and extra-curricular requirements necessary for the certification. She also served as the Membership and Recruitment Chair and the Treasurer of Georgia College Shelter Buddies. During her undergraduate career, she had the opportunity to present at four academic conferences and conduct research. In addition to presenting her research, she also has an article in publication with the Journal of Student Research, Motivations and Perceptions of Student Service Participation, expected to be released in 2020. She has been awarded numerous scholarships, the GC&SU-wide Higher Ground Award (recognizing student employees) and Starfish Award (recognizing servant leaders), as well as the national Presidential Volunteer Service Award (recognizing over 100 hours of volunteer service). After graduation, Lily plans to work either in nonprofit administration or a local government department, likely focused on financial or personnel administration, and eventually also teach public administration as an adjunct professor.
