Master of Public Administration (MPA)
Liliana Chanler grew up in Atlanta, a city renowned for its civil rights leaders who helped transform American civil liberties and culture. Inspired by Atlanta’s history and societal impact, she began volunteering for various local political campaigns and nonprofit organizations at a young age. She helped establish the first high school chapter of IGNITE, an organization aimed at encouraging more young women to get involved in politics. During the Fall of 2020, Liliana served as a Financial Intern for Jon Ossoff’s campaign for US Senate where she contributed to doubling the historic record for donations to a non-presidential campaign. In the summer of 2021, she interned in the Civil Rights department at Mitchell & Shapiro LLC, among Atlanta’s top personal injury, commercial litigation, and civil rights law firms. Concurrently, Liliana, selected from over 400 applicants, served as a Political Consulting Intern at The Messina Group, a full-service strategic consulting firm founded by Jim Messina, former Obama Deputy Chief of Staff and Campaign Manager for his victorious 2012 re-election. Liliana is currently in her fifth year at UGA completing a Bachelor’s Degree in International Affairs with minors in Global Health and Spanish, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with a specialization in Public Policy by way of the Double Dawg program. She serves as an Ambassador for the UGA School of Public and International Affairs and Treasurer of the School’s Honor Society of Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity, as well as a Fellow for Georgia State Representative Spencer Frye.
