Jessica Martinez graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science degree (Criminal Justice) in August of 2020 from Georgia Gwinnett College. During her time as a student at GGC, she was inducted to The National Society of Leadership and Success, Golden Key International Honour Society, and Alpha Phi Sigma (Criminal Justice Honor Society). She received the NELA Award from the National Society of Leadership and Success, studied abroad in London as well as served two terms as the president of Alpha Phi Sigma. All of this was done while working a full-time job and raising three children. Jessica is currently a Student Success Advisor with Georgia Gwinnett College. She advises incoming students, freshman, current students and specializes in working with military-affiliated and Veteran students. Previously, Jessica worked with the Veteran Success office at Georgia Gwinnett College where she was the interim Veteran Success Manager as well as the School Certifying Official. During her time in this position, she gained valuable knowledge of the military-affiliated and Veteran community which helped her and another coworker to develop and continues to develop workshops for military-affiliated and Veteran students on the GGC campus. She, along with a coworker, has developed and is preparing to roll out the Green Zone staff training campus-wide. She was one of the two staff members that helped to develop community partnerships between Georgia Gwinnett College and Vetlanta, The Warrior Alliance, and FourBlock. Her goal is to continue to work with and serve the Veteran student population through community partnerships, as well as workshop and program development.
