Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Political Science & International Affairs

Jennifer is pursuing a PhD of Political Science and a Graduate Certificate in Women’s Studies at the University of Georgia. She is also a licensed Georgia attorney and a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Vulnerability and the Human Condition Initiative at Emory University School of Law.

More About

Jennifer earned her JD with honors at Emory University School of Law, where she held leadership positions in If/When/How and twice received EPIC grants for public interest work at National ACLU Women’s Rights Project and Center for Reproductive Rights. Jennifer practiced civil rights law for several years, primarily in the areas of reproductive justice and police misconduct. Jennifer is a former fellow of the Georgia Women’s Policy Institute and regularly assists with state legislative efforts concerning a range of issues impacting women.

Jennifer is also a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Vulnerability and the Human Condition Initiative at Emory University School of Law.  Her research applies vulnerability theory to the fields of sexual and reproductive health and police reform, exploring an alternative approach to state responsibility and social justice based on human vulnerability. Jennifer has an emerging research interest in technology ethics and policy, informed by her decade-long career in software engineering. She participates in an interdisciplinary research collaborative focused on applying vulnerability theory to issues of digital privacy, security, and equity in computing. Jennifer’s work has been published in multiple law journals, including Columbia Journal of Gender and Law.
