Master of Public Administration (MPA)

Jake is an MPA candidate with an interest in public policy. This interest stems from his education and work background where he has dealt with policy in its various stages. At the University of Georgia, Jake hopes to capitalize on his previous accomplishments and experiences into dealing directly with the federal public policy process from creation to implementation. Jake also has multiple complementary skills including Spanish proficiency and communication skills that make him well equipped to come out of the program a trusted and astute expert on public policy and an effective public servant for the community.

Educational Experiences: 

Jake received his Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science from the University of Alabama in December 2020. During his tenure there, he was a junior editor for the Capstone Journal of Law and Public Policy on two editions, developed his Spanish proficiency by obtaining a second major in Spanish, and obtained a Communication Studies minor all while working part time on campus and through multiple internships and graduating Magna Cum Laude. Jake hopes to add to his educational background a Master of Public Administration from the University of Georgia that includes a mix of academic and extra-curricular accomplishments.


Career Goals:

Jake hopes to have a career involving the federal public policy process and would enjoy a career in any point or midsection of said process. While he has already had exposure with policy implementation and continues to enjoy the work that goes into it, he also is interested in a career in policy analysis as well. Jake’s underlying skill-set coupled with the skills garnered from his tenure at UGA will set him up to be an effective policy expert as well as a dedicated public servant. Jake strives to maintain his career interests while ensuring he always has a staunch focus on the betterment of the public.
